AGRANA FRUIT Quality Award
Quality begins with our employeesAt AGRANA, quality is not just part of the “Vision & Mission” principles, but it also has top priority when it comes to the assessment of raw materials. We track our KPIs on a daily basis. Our employees’ involvement and active participation are key to achieving common ambitions, ensuring understanding of our values and protecting our brand.
Therefore, in 2009 we introduced our own Quality Award, which turned out to be a highly efficient initiative to trigger improvement.
How does it work?The score of each of our 25 facilities, which can amount to up to 100 points, is evaluated using a transparent mathematical calculation. The scorecard ranks the factories based on their results in:
- ENQ (External Non Quality)
- Customer Dissatisfaction
- Microbiology performance
- Internal Audit
- INQ (Internal Non Quality)
Once the evaluation is completed, every factory can achieve bonus points, or be penalized, based on additional criteria. For example, a production unit could be rewarded with additional points if it earns a sensational evaluation from customer audits.
What is the benefit for our employees?The main goals behind setting up a competition like this are to enhance our performance, to exceed our customers’ expectations, and at the same time to make sure to reward employees that master the challenge. For instance, when our affiliate in Korea triumphed, the local team organized a trip to our Chinese factory to combine a visit with a celebration and professional training.
AGRANA Fruit has the highest standards of fruit selection and fruit processing, which guarantees unique food safety standards and premium quality for our customers. A “zero defect“ policy based specifically on the wishes of our customers applies to all of our business areas! Such stringent monitoring means that there is far less than 1 product complaint per 13 million final products.
